ARMA - Announcement

Secretary of State announces potential regulation of the property management sector at the ARMA Conference.

At the ARMA conference Sajid Javid, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, announced plans for a six week “call for evidence”. Citing examples of rogue agents overcharging leaseholders and figures from the 2011 Which report he repeatedly singled ARMA members out as “the good guys”.

ARMA’s CEO, Dr Nigel Glen, stated “we are delighted that the Minister chose the ARMA conference to announce this welcome shift in policy. We have long campaigned for the sector to be regulated and will do all we can to assist the Government in delivering a regulatory regime across the sector”

ARMA will respond to the call for evidence on your behalf to ensure that any regulation is fit for purpose. Our ARMA-Q standards should mean that all ARMA agents will easily be able to pass whatever criteria the Government may introduce and ARMA will continue to be the gold standard for the property management sector.
